December 31, 2005 You're holding your breath, needing to know....
"CAN I OPEN MY PRESENT YET?????"
Oh, all right. If you have to. Fine! Twelve out of nineteen have received their packages so far. Five have not, and two have not checked in. As long as no one has yet received TWO packages (in which case I really screwed up), I think we're doing ok. So here's the plan. OPEN. TAKE PHOTOS. DO NOT POST. We'll keep the tentative post date of Jan 14 to give the rest of us (sob!) a chance to get our packages before the online fun seriously begins. But just in case your boxes hold perishables, I think it's a good idea to open them. Happy Opening! And Happy New Year! Posted by Andrea at December 31, 2005 8:26 PM under The Winter Holiday of Your Choice! EMAIL this entry (comments fields are below this section) Comments thank you thank you thank you! Because, I will be honest, I spied one the label who sent mine and I am too excited to wait any longer to open it. Posted by: Sarah at December 31, 2005 9:24 PM
squeee! I opened it!!! Pix taken! Posted by: liz at January 1, 2006 7:55 AM
I'm torn -- I really really want to open it, but the sadness for those who have not received theirs yet is tainting my joy. What to do, what to do? will decide a bit later. Posted by: Marla at January 1, 2006 10:45 AM
Can you believe that I actually also feel a little torn? Wanna wait for everyone, yet wanna open open open....what to do, what to do... If I open and take pix, I think holding off posting that part will be harder than it has been to not open my parcel...hmmm... copy-catting Marla and remain indecided... P.S. If we know who our gifter is, can we email them personally with a thanx or are we supposed to wait on that too?? Posted by: nancy at January 1, 2006 11:09 AM
ARRRRRRRRRRGH! And I was holding up so beautifully! Now I'm just obsessively hovering around my mailbox. Posted by: andrea from the fishbowl at January 1, 2006 11:55 AM
p.s. I'd like to add that I vote for everyone else opening their gifts. And posting and thanking. There's really no reason to wait. Posted by: andrea from the fishbowl at January 1, 2006 11:56 AM
Dang it all! I'm one of the unlucky few who still has not gotten mine! And, I'm not exactly known for my patience, either! I have hopes that it'll be here soon, and it's only a border crossing that's making it take so long. On the other hand, I am interested to see if my Spoilee liked her gifts. (My Spoilee has reported in that she got her package already, so I'm hoping that she enjoys what I sent!) I'll have to go check her site.... Posted by: KLee at January 1, 2006 1:18 PM
Opened. Pictured. Excited. Thanked. Post ready to go on your order :) Except for one thing--I still don't know who sent it (bloggy name; I only have IRL name). So for that, I will still have to wait :) Posted by: Running2Ks at January 1, 2006 1:59 PM
And I think the sad note for those Canadians in waiting is that there won't be mail service until Wednesday this week...at least Tuesday, but maybe even Wednesday. Still haven't opened... Posted by: nancy at January 1, 2006 9:10 PM
****squealing with delight***** I couldn't stand it any more so I opened mine. It is SO lovely !!!!! I took pictures and will post once you give the go ahead. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to my secret santa. You're the best!! Posted by: Sue at January 2, 2006 1:02 AM
I'm waiting with baited breath. Our regular mail carrier is on holidays and the substitute guy seems rather overwhelmed with all of the instruction I have on the door. Do not ring bell. Knock softly but persistently if signature required. Otherwise leave packages at door, hidden behind the shovel. He's probably given up until the regular guy is back. For Nancy's sake, I opened mine just before having a bath and a lovely grown-up drink last night before bed. I'm still giggling over one particular part of it, which might spawn a host of other evil ideas for the New Year. The other bits will get played with later today. Yay! It's great, and she "got" me! Posted by: Marla at January 2, 2006 11:24 AM
I'm so glad people voted for opening, because I did so this morning. THANK YOU SO MUCH, ANDREA! That was the BEST - I'm recognizing a couple of things from the One Of A Kind Show, which just goes to show that you're my kind of gal. ;) Thanks again for the yummies, the OOAKS items, the thoughtfulness, the beautiful packaging! It was a great treat that was all for me, and again, this whole gift exchange was a wonderful idea; thanks to you and Marla for organizing it! Posted by: Kristina at January 2, 2006 3:27 PM
Oh phew, I am so glad I clicked over here! After fighting with Blogger for two days, I finally gave up and posted a big thank-you without photos about six minutes ago, then hustled over and took it right back down again. I LOVE my secret santa, but still don't know who she is!!! Please tell me I don't have to wait until January 14 to find out?!? Judges, I'd like a call on this one - and please say yes, I MUST KNOW!!!!! Posted by: Danigirl at January 2, 2006 3:52 PM
I vote everyone waits for identities until the 14th if they were not revealed. All part of the fun. I THINK I might know who my spoiler is, but I'd like some time to guess while I play with my thingies. Wait. That sounds weird. Get your mind out of the gutter. Okay. Play with my goodies. No. Not any better. Play with my stuff. Better. Posted by: Marla at January 2, 2006 9:27 PM
Marla - 'stuff' is not better. snicker snicker Posted by: nancy at January 3, 2006 8:51 AM
The mailmain just knocked on my door and LO and behold my giftie came! Thank you secret spoiler for all the wonderful things! Believe it or not, there is a product in here that is hitherto unknown to me! I can't wait to try it out. p.s. Your poem made me laugh. Extra points for that one. :) :) Posted by: andrea from the fishbowl at January 3, 2006 8:59 AM
