I'm Famous! Or, Not Really.

But Julie at alittlepregnant.com has made Annika her donations recipient of the month.

What does this mean?

This means that if you visit her site and click on the ads--click, click, click, as if the devil were behind you, as if your very life depended on the clicking of that left mouse button, click as if you had carpal tunnels of steel and could click until the very sun collapsed in a fiery supernova--you will raise money for Annika.

"Who's Annika?"

OK, I'll let that pass because you're new. Annika is the five-year-old daughter of the lovely and talented Moreena of falling down is also a gift and The Wait and The Wonder. Annika has biliary atresia, a congenital liver disease. Annika is on the list for her third liver transplant. And earlier this year, Annika's family had an insurance emergency, leaving them wondering if they could afford the surgery that would make her well. Moreena's friends in the computer have taken it upon themselves to ensure that the Evil Reinsurer doesn't get to mess with their heads and their financial status that way again. Hence, Annika's Internet Insurance Policy.

"And who's Julie? What's this donations business?"

How new are you?

Julie writes A Little Pregnant, a lovely blog that I can't possibly summarize in a pithy sentence, and she hosts ads on her site. All funds raised when people click on the ads are donated to the recipient designated below the ads. So you click, she gets money, and then she gives it away. Julie has, incidentally, traffic that is orders of magnitude greater than mine, so there is Serious Potential here for Serious Money. And all you have to do to contribute is visit and click. Click, click, click.

Dude, I thought you had to click through and buy stuff! Otherwise, what's in it for the ad people?
